Your AI remembers things about you, but you can’t easily see them, or fix the ones that are wrong. This page shows how memex makes every memory a note you can read.

Why it happens

Built-in memory lives in a settings list you didn’t write. You can’t tell why something is there, an old fact can stay long after it stopped being true, and when the memory is full, it’s full.

  • Your AI writes its memory itself, often without being asked.
  • Deleting a chat doesn’t always delete what was saved from it.
  • Each AI keeps its own version of you, so two of them can believe different things.

How memex fixes it

In memex every memory is a note you can open and read. It says which AI saved it and when, and keeps every edit. Change a sentence, undo an edit, or delete a note, and every AI you connect reads the corrected version. By default, nothing your AI writes counts until you approve it.

Fix it in three steps

  1. Open your notesEvery memory is a note on Notes, with who wrote it and when.
  2. Review what’s newBy default, what your AI writes waits in Review Inbox. Approve it, amend it first, or reject it.
  3. Fix a linePress Edit note to change a sentence, or open its history to restore an earlier version.

  1. Monday

    Priya left the bank in September to become a self-employed bookkeeper, but the AI still writes as if nothing changed.

By default, no: what it writes waits in Review Inbox until you approve it. If you make an assistant a curator, its edits apply at once, and each one is kept in the note’s history and the Activity log.
